Inspired to Write
I am realizing that I shouldn’t be remorseful
When I go on hiatus,
Take a creative vacation
Simply because I don’t want to give you soiled pages.
I’d rather be intertwined with true inspiration
Because these are more than words–
These are swords
Cutting off the prison locks,
Unbinding freedom from its cell
These are swords–
Severing the hurts
And making you recall a certain time.
Yes, I’ve been quiet
But my pen’s spirit
Has not been silent
Just looking for solace,
For answers, and the right moment
To tell what it’s been told
A slave to divine timing tokens
Reaching for those pieces of golden
A soliloquy of
Because anything done before its time is chaos
No matter how good, I’ve got to count up the costs.
So while I’m counting, I’ll be on a road of solitude
You mean too much to me for me to only feed you half-hearted platitudes,
So give me a moment
To be shattered and broken,
As I seek answers
From the Answer Himself
And listen close to what He has spoken
About my tomorrow
We’re in this together
Save room for the proceeding word
Sometimes, the fruit of faithful prayer.
Give us this day our daily bread
And teach me, oh Lord, to say what You’ve said
From eternity into time.
I need a moment to seek the Divine.
Sit at His feet,
Become one with Him,
Be so intertwined–
That I’m inspired to write.
