The Heart of the Father

by | Apr 1, 2016 | 1 comment

The heart of the Father is sweet.
The heart of the Father is pure.
The heart of the Father is everlasting.
The heart of the Father is kind.
I am learning Your heart,
And I am overwhelmed by the compassion that
Dwindles my doubt and dwarfs my misunderstanding.
Abba.
To know you,
To call you Father with full assurance and to
Rest in You
Has become my delight.
My vantage point has begun to change,
And my approach has given way to shift.
Like rushing water, I overflow with thanksgiving.
I am grateful that You have loved me,
Sown into me,
Breathed your breath into my nostrils,
And made me good ground.
Father.
Thank You for telling me to come to You,
To take Your burden and Your yoke.
Father.
Thank You for wanting me.
Thank You for sparing me
By giving Your Son in my stead.
He stood in the gap and rescued me from me,
And now I am His brethren.
Daddy.
Thank You.

Thank You for being my Resting Place
And my Comfort.
Thank You for knowing best and making me to stand upon the reliance of Your Holy Spirit.
Thank You for changing me,
For snatching me up and bringing me — Your daughter —
Back unto Yourself.
You wanted me.
You longed for me,
And You never let me go.
Thank You.
Father, King, Lord, my very Best Friend,
I love you.
It is only You that I adore and long for.
It is only You that is worthy.

Your heart is sweet.
Your heart is pure.
Your heart is everlasting, and
Your heart is kind.
I am learning Your heart,
And I am overwhelmed by the compassion that
Dwindles my doubt and dwarfs my misunderstanding.
Abba.
Oh, how I long for You.
